We are currently looking for a Category Manager to join our Commercial team.


Your role as a Category Manager

As a Category Manager, you will be the owner of managing and delivering the strategies for one of our top categories. By analyzing our beloved pets’ needs and market trends, as well as leading launch plans, vendors relationships, stock levels, promo calendar and destocking campaigns with your team, you will be responsible for providing pet parents with a variety of products that will make both them and their pets happy. Your planning, forecasting, and people management skills, as well as your knowledge in category management, marketing, and sales principles, aligned with your love for pets, will help you make a difference in this role!


Key Responsibilities

  • Leading the sales performance for the entire product range of the categories, as well as developing and executing category-specific actions to drive sales and profitability
  • Build and enhance our relationships with key suppliers
  • Running key product mix revamp projects (sourcing, purchasing, merchandising) based on our strategic plan and market needs
  • Managing product launch plan and implementing it across the channels (Retail/e-Com/WHS)
  • Setting the annual growth purchasing goals and building strong relationships with our vendors/suppliers by ensuring an efficient day to day communication with them
  • Overseeing the stock levels and ensuring that we prevent overstocks and stockouts
  • Suggesting destocking campaigns to efficiently achieve our objectives
  • Developing and overseeing the annual buying plan on a constant basis
  • Continuously monitoring the competition and identifying risks in terms of promos and pricing activities by our competitors
  • Develop, execute and evaluate pricing elasticity pilots
  • Develop and execute the category promo plan
  • Own the Private Label projects of the category
  • Keeping track of key metrics, such us Categories Annual Growth, No of SKUs, % in-stock, stockouts and overstock per channel, ABC, inventory turnover rate etc.
  • Sharing the category knowledge & building the expertise to our sales channels by developing a new training framework and evaluation platform
  • Leading and mentoring Junior Category Manager and Category Assistant


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Management or Marketing field
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role; hands on experience in Category Management roles is required
  • Knowledge of Vision Merchandising Tools and ERP software
  • Familiarity with category management, marketing and sales principles
  • Project management/planning skills are required
  • Competency in English (written and oral)
  • Data driven, result oriented and customer focused
  • Analytical, forecasting, budgeting, and strategic thinking skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to lead a high performing team
